Perthshire Cup final

Some images from last night's Perthshire Cup final. I caught the last 15mins of normal time and the game then went into extra time. The final was contested by Letham and Roselea who are the top two teams in the Perthshire Amateur leagues. There was a lot of hostility between the two teams (think Celtic and Rangers without the money) and the game was eventually won 3-2 by Letham. Off to Blairgowrie tonight to photograph them winning the league title (hopefully)

Somehow Roselea manage to score direct from a corner kick despite a crowded 6 yard box.

Must be almost summer

I took time to shoot cricket for the first time yesterday. I was only there for ten minutes as my afternoon was already full with other jobs. The photographs give the impression it is a nice warm sunny day but there was a cold wind blowing. Still it makes me more optimistic warm days may be around the corner.

Like hockey without rules

On Saturday on the way back from shooting the usual Amateur and Junior games for the paper I decided to stop by the North Inch to photograph what I thought, from a distance, was a hockey game. As I got closer I realised it was infact Shinty. This is the first time I have seen shinty first hand and to the untrained eye I spent most of the time trying to figure out what the rules were. To me the best way to describe it would be hockey without rules (I am sure some will shake their heads at this description). A fascinating game which I plan to go back and photograph again. For anyone wanting to find out more heres a link to the main website.
